A Chiang Mai Jaunt

Chiang Mai! With all of it’s beauty, kind people, and relaxed vibe, I’m so glad I didn’t miss this one. Chiang Mai is located in Northern Thailand and has a unique charm that sets it apart from the rest. This was the perfect stop to recharge, though I wish I stayed a few more days to experience it’s green landscape.

I’m not really sure there is a better place to stay than at the Art Mai Gallery Hotel in Chiang Mai. The bed was so comfortable, breakfast was included, and they also had package deals for excursions. We stayed on the fifth floor which was the “abstract level.” Each room has an easel set up for you to leave your own art. There is a roof top pool which over looks the neighborhood and sights of the lush green mountains. The location is perfectly situated in the Soi Nimmana Haeminda neighborhood. There are many restaurants, shops, and cafes within walking distance. You’re sure to find just what you needed only a few steps outside of the hotel.

Play and Do

Book an experience connecting with Gentle Giants at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.

You can’t eave Thailand and not experience a thai massage at Golden Chiang Mai.

Visit local temples or the more famous White Temple and Silver Temple next door in Chiang Rai.

Grab a souvenir, post cards, and thai food at a street market.

Take the red Songthaew to get around and really see the city. Bargain for the best price!

Eat and Drink

Grab all the street food in one place: Street Food Market at One Nimman

Enjoy artisan dining  along with chicken & waffles at Rustic & Blue.

Rise up to dessert heaven at On Cloud Nine.

Grab some ramen and a beer at Musashi Contemporary Sushi Bar.

In for something cold on a hot day? Try a gelato rose cone from Rosélato.

Late night drinks and good music at Beer Republic.

Riding around in a Songthaew aka red truck taxis. This one was tricked out with a stereo system!
Dinner at Rustic & Blue. The outdoor seating is beautiful, but bring your spray for mosquitoes.
On Cloud 9 at On Cloud Nine. This was delicious!
She’s fed. She’s happy. Elephant Sanctuary.

I missed it, but you definitely should:

Chiang Mai is very green in comparison to the other popular destinations in Thailand. I did not get the chance to see all it has to offer. So if you’re interested, Take a day trip out to one of it’s parks. The Sri Lanna National Forest has beautiful scenery and a waterfall.  In for a splash? Dive into Nam Phrae, Chiang Mai’s Grand Canyon Water Park.
